The Taste of Purim

Within the framework of the "Wings of Kindness" project, volunteers prepared festive meals and Hamantaschen for Hesed beneficiaries

Volunteers of the "Wings of Kindness" project lovingly baked traditional Hamantaschen so that every beneficiary would not only receive a hot meal but also experience the true taste of the holiday.

The festive Purim week continued with care and attention: volunteers delivered meals to people's homes and welcomed those who visited the office. Special treats were also prepared for participants of the "Step Forward" project - adult children and their parents who attended the session that day.

There is a special detail that touches us every time: our beneficiaries look forward to this Wednesday and even prepare for it. They put on festive clothes and dress up because for them it is a real event.

One beneficiary said with a smile: "Today I came out especially to meet you wearing my new shawl!" These words contained everything - joy, gratitude, and that unique Odesa way of life.

The menu that day included Odesa-style borscht, bulgur with vegetables, vegetable salad, and chicken cutlets. And, of course, Hamantaschen were carefully added to every meal so that the holiday would be present not only in words but also on the table. While delivering the meals, volunteers also shared the meaning of Purim - the power of unity, support, and light even in difficult times.

Because in Odesa, love for one another is not just a tradition - it is a way of life. Here people may spend a long time discussing the perfect borscht recipe, but they will help without hesitation. And when it comes to celebrating - they celebrate together.

That day, even the sun seemed to shine differently - bright and warm, as if reminding everyone that as long as we stand by one another, everything will be all right. We sincerely thank the volunteers of the "Wings of Kindness" project for their care, kindness, and support for those who need it most.

Happy Purim! May there be more joy, light, and that special Odesa love - generous, heartfelt, and genuine.
