The warmth of care in every step

During Good Deeds Week, volunteers from Hillel, Hesed Shaarei Tzion, and LEV joined forces.

Volunteers united to do more than just good deeds — to give people attention, support, and the feeling that they are remembered.

This time, the initiatives were especially warm and heartfelt: volunteers assembled food packages and prepared hot meals for those who need support the most. These packages were delivered to the homes of those in need, so they wouldn’t be left without food during difficult times.

They baked challah — not just bread, but a symbol of home warmth and tradition. The challah was given with kind words, creating coziness even where it had long been missing.

They visited elderly community members, bringing not only treats but also sincere conversations, heartfelt communication, and warm hugs. For many, these visits became the highlight of their week.

One volunteer shared: “Simple, sincere gestures of attention sparked true joy and gratitude. In difficult times, it is so important to find opportunities for good deeds. Even a small ‘food joy’ can warm the heart and give a sense of unity and care.”

These initiatives are not just about helping but about the connection between people. About how we are all one big family supporting each other in joy and in trials.

And if each of us does at least one good deed, the world will become warmer.
