The warmth of small acts
Good deeds don’t require large funds or grand events — just a sincere heart and the willingness to help.
This year, Good Deeds Day in Kremenchuk became a true marathon of kindness, warmth, and mutual support. Every event was like a unique story touching the heart.

It all began with 70 cherry-filled pies baked by volunteers and given to people in need. This was more than just a sweet treat — it was a message: “We are with you.” In return — sincere smiles and grateful eyes.

Meanwhile, other volunteers prepared 160 servings of dumplings for the elderly clients of Hesed. Each portion was not just food, but a reminder: you are important, you are remembered. This brought real joy — both to those receiving and those preparing.

A particularly touching moment was the visit to a rehabilitation center, where volunteers organized a masterclass on decorating honey cookies. Children immersed in the process created their “tasty masterpieces” with colorful icing, while volunteers supported and inspired them. Together, they didn’t just bake cookies — they created a shared space of care and trust.

A significant contribution to the celebration was made by the volunteer girls. Their generosity marathon amazed: sponge rolls for Happy Eldersy 80+ participants, pancakes for synagogue guests, cheesecakes for less mobile elderly people… Every piece of pastry was an expression of attention warming the soul.
But it didn’t stop there. The girls took initiative and prepared favorite dishes at home: pies, pancakes, fish, sweets. Gathering packages, they set off to Hesed’s clients to share a piece of warmth — as if from a home kitchen to another person’s heart. The elderly gratefully accepted the treats, and the volunteers realized: kindness is an action that returns manifold.

“We don’t just feed — we give attention, care, presence,” say the volunteers. Indeed, at every event, people felt they were not alone. The aroma of baked goods, colors of children’s drawings, warm conversations — all this created the atmosphere of unity that makes Good Deeds Day much more than just an event.
Because kindness is not about scale. It’s about the heart.
