Together Making the World Better
Volunteers from the "Interaction" project bring joy and improve the lives of elderly members of the "golden age" community.
On the eve of the long-awaited holiday of Purim, as part of the "Interaction" project with the support of volunteers from the Khmelnytskyi center, a wonderful "Bring Joy" campaign took place, aimed at delighting the less mobile members of the community. Volunteers decided to enrich the festive table of their wards with traditional Purim cookies, hamantaschen.
Hamantaschen cookies, also known as "Haman's ears," are an obligatory symbol of the joyous holiday of Purim, symbolizing the liberation of the Jewish people from the Persians. To ensure that the less mobile wards could observe all the traditions of the holiday, the treats were delivered directly to their homes.
In addition to the culinary aspect, the campaign had significant social value, as the volunteers' visits provided lively communication for people who are limited in movement and cannot leave their homes. As specialists say, communication is an important factor in maintaining the quality of life, so volunteer visits help maintain the emotional well-being of the less mobile wards of Chesed, and heartfelt gatherings around the festive table warm souls and fill hearts with joy.
Such volunteer initiatives emphasize the importance of everyone's personal contribution to the common cause of helping those in need. A small personal contribution ultimately translates into a powerful sea of real help and changes the lives of the entire society for the better.
The "Interaction" project helps unite the efforts of volunteers for a common goal. Thanks to everyone who participated in the charitable campaign! Thanks to you, the holiday came to the homes of the less mobile members of our community!
