Together towards accessibility

Volunteers of the theater troupe “Equal Opportunities” joined the initiative to raise funds for a stair lift

In February, VC volunteers together with Hesed Michael launched an important initiative — raising funds for a stair lift to ensure that people with limited mobility can return to community life without barriers.

The inclusive theater troupe “Equal Opportunities” actively joined the initiative. People with disabilities, those with different conditions, and neurotypical actors perform together on stage and know firsthand how difficult it is for people with limited mobility and wheelchair users to overcome stairs.

In June, the troupe presented their original play “A Million for Lard” — a cheerful yet profound comedy about dreams, friendship, family, freedom of choice, and true values in a new reality. The audience also saw a storyline depicting the day when Ukraine has already won. The charity performance raised 44,900 UAH, which will go toward the purchase of a stair lift.

We are not stopping and will continue moving toward the goal, because everyone has the right to go outside, be part of society, and feel the support of the community. This initiative demonstrates how art, volunteering, and collective care can change people’s lives for the better.
