Tokens of Care for Those Awaiting Warmth

Volunteers from the "Interaction" project greeted Hesed clients aged 80+ with sweet bouquets and heartfelt attention

In September, volunteers from the "Interaction" project once again showed genuine care and attention to Hesed’s oldest clients — people aged 80 and over. They visited them not empty-handed, but with special gifts — bright sweet bouquets made of candies, created with love and warmth.

These bouquets were a pleasant and unexpected surprise, but their value goes far beyond the sweets themselves. For older adults, such visits are, above all, an opportunity for real interaction, attention, and the feeling that they are remembered and appreciated. A few kind words, a smile, or a sincere “How are you?” often mean much more than any gift.

During the meetings, volunteers talked with the clients, asked about their well-being, listened to their life stories, and shared warm wishes. For some, it was a chance to reminisce about their youth; for others, it was simply the joy of human presence and support.

Such initiatives prove once again that small acts can bring great joy and brighten everyday life. The "Interaction" project continues to unite volunteers around an important mission — to be present, provide support, and share warmth with those who need it most.
