Tu BiShvat Celebration
As part of the "Wings of Kindness" project, a Tu BiShvat celebration was held featuring traditions, games, and flower planting activities
Volunteers of the center celebrated Tu BiShvat - the New Year of Trees - within the framework of the "Wings of Kindness" project. The event brought together children and adults in a warm atmosphere of communication, learning, and shared activities.
During the gathering, participants learned more about the traditions, symbolism, and meaning of the holiday. It became a wonderful space for exchanging knowledge, connecting with one another, and immersing themselves in culture.
One of the most memorable moments was the tasting challenge: with their eyes closed, participants tried to identify different fruits by taste alone. While oranges, bananas, and apples were easy to recognize, figs and dates became a real challenge. At the same time, these fruits hold special meaning as they are among the seven species for which the Land of Israel is famous.
Participants also took part in another beautiful Tu BiShvat tradition - planting. Tulip bulbs were planted in flower pots and, by spring, they will decorate the flowerbeds near the synagogue and bring joy to everyone with their beauty.
Each participant signed their own plant and now has the opportunity to care for it - watering it, watching it grow, and even taking part in a friendly competition to see whose flower blooms first.
The celebration took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and left behind not only pleasant memories, but also a living continuation of the holiday - through the plants that will continue growing with care and attention.
