Tu BiShvat: Generations Together

Celebrating Tu BiShvat for "Family Volunteering" and "VolunTeens" volunteers through intergenerational engagement

"Tu BiShvat is a celebration of growth, roots, and the future. And it is together that we build this future. Meaningful communication and cooperation between generations."

At the Mykolaiv Society of Jewish Culture NOEK, the celebration of Tu BiShvat became a special event for volunteers from the "Family Volunteering" and "VolunTeens" projects. The event brought together different generations in one shared space - children, teenagers, and adults - creating an atmosphere of mutual support, learning, and collaboration.

The celebration was designed as an interactive program, with the festive "Wheel of Fortune" dedicated to the Birthday of the Trees serving as the central activity. All tasks were themed around Tu BiShvat and included quizzes, educational questions, creative challenges, and team-based activities.

While completing the activities, participants not only earned points but also gained a deeper understanding of the holiday - the symbolism of trees, the significance of nature in tradition, human responsibility for the environment, and the importance of preserving cultural and spiritual heritage.

The event's greatest value came from its intergenerational interaction. Children, teenagers, and adults worked together in teams, exchanged experiences, supported one another, and discovered new ways of collaborating. This format contributed not only to learning but also to strengthening connections within the community.

The Tu BiShvat celebration at NOEK once again demonstrated that shared initiatives have the power to unite generations and create an environment where growth is a collective journey.
