Volunteers from the Konotop Volunteer Community organized a vibrant celebration of Lag BaOmer - a holiday of joy, light, and inner strength.

Special guests of the event were the talented young performers from the junior group of the National Artistic Vocal Ensemble “Do-Mi-Sol-Ka,” who were invited to promote Jewish culture and foster a tolerant attitude toward national minorities.

On the eve of the holiday, volunteers personally prepared treats using traditional Jewish recipes - fragrant imberlach and sweet honey teiglach. These particular dishes were chosen for a reason: honey became not only a symbol of the holiday but also a key element of the ecological initiative.

During the event, children learned about the traditions of Lag BaOmer, got acquainted with the history and present life of the city’s Jewish community. Volunteers created a warm, relaxed atmosphere for communication and mutual understanding. As per tradition, a bonfire was lit, and the children enjoyed roasting marshmallows - a fun and tasty memory that will last.

Since May 20 is World Bee Day, the celebration also became a great opportunity to draw children’s attention to environmental topics. Volunteers held a creative workshop where children made “houses” for beneficial insects that help maintain ecosystem balance. Together with the kids, they also created a colorful applique titled “Planet’s Love for the Bee” - a bright symbol of gratitude to nature.

At the end of the event, the young vocalists of the “Do-Mi-Sol-Ka” ensemble gifted the audience with a heartfelt song from their repertoire. Its lyrics deeply moved everyone: “For our dear Ukraine to bloom, you and I are near. The world is beautiful - this is my land...”

This day became a true example of how kindness, culture, and mutual respect can unite people. Our volunteer community sincerely believes that it is in such moments that the future is born, filled with peace, understanding, and genuine good deeds.
