Warm hearts and hot meals

Volunteers prepared hot meals for families and conducted a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat ceremony

As part of the It’s Shabbes Time program, volunteers from Kyiv Volunteer Community Hillel once again demonstrated that small acts of kindness can create great wonders. This time, the team prepared dozens of hot meals for those who needed support and warmth the most.

The meals were delivered to families eagerly awaiting them. Each dish was prepared with care and love, as the volunteers understood that it was not just about providing food, but about offering a sense of attention and care. For many, receiving a hot meal from the community is a sign that they are not alone - that there are people willing to share their time and heart.

After the meal deliveries, it was time for another important part of the program - the Kabbalat Shabbat ceremony. Volunteers gathered together, lit candles, sang traditional songs, and prayed. This shared prayer created an atmosphere of unity and warmth, showing that Shabbat is not only about traditions but also about bringing people together through kindness and mutual support.

It’s Shabbes Time is about small actions that carry great significance. Every meal, every smile, every minute spent with volunteers is a link in a larger chain of goodness. Kyiv Volunteer Community Hillel reminds us that a community can be a source of support, joy, and inspiration for those around us.

Every Shabbes is an opportunity to show that care and attention can work miracles, and that kindness always returns many times over. As volunteers prepare meals and conduct ceremonies, they ignite a light of hope and faith in a better future in the hearts of those who receive help.
