Book Club "Bookworms"
Engaging the community in reading and promoting the development of language skills among participants
Book Club "Bookworms"
The wonderful "Bookworms" Book Club project is created for those who love reading and want to improve their knowledge of Ukrainian and other languages. Among the participants of the project are lovers of reading books in Ukrainian and foreign languages, children and adults in hospitals, as well as clients of Hesed who wish to learn or improve their Ukrainian language skills.
Project Description:
Within the framework of the project, offline meetings are held once a month to discuss books and literary topics in Ukrainian and other languages. Ukrainian language courses are also provided for Hesed clients, and books in Ukrainian are collected and delivered to children and adults in hospitals.
Project Goals:
The project aims to instill a love of reading and the Ukrainian language among participants. Additionally, regular meetings and book discussions encourage more reading, develop communication skills, and the ability to express one's own opinion. Furthermore, the project aims to increase the number of people proficient in the Ukrainian language, and the regular sending of books to hospitals demonstrates an example of caring for those in need of support.
Role of Volunteers:
The "Bookworms" Book Club project is organized with the support of volunteers, whose efforts are focused on preparing and conducting meetings within the project. Volunteers are responsible for selecting books for discussion and for sending them to hospitals. Additionally, volunteers conduct Ukrainian language courses for Hesed clients and maintain a warm and friendly atmosphere during the events.
Project Results:
The project generates significant interest among Hesed clients and reading enthusiasts of various ages. Participants enthusiastically attend events within the project, engage in discussions, and improve their knowledge of the Ukrainian language, gaining additional literary knowledge. Thus, a comfortable environment for communication and deepening knowledge of literature is created.
