The “Hillel on the Line” project is designed to identify the needs of elderly beneficiaries of Hesed through phone calls and online communication and to provide them with the necessary assistance.
Project Description:
Within the project, students and volunteers conduct regular phone calls to elderly Hesed clients to determine their needs. Based on the information gathered, material assistance is collected, and food packages and household products are assembled and delivered.
Project Goals:
- Maintain regular contact with Hesed clients
- Provide project participants with necessary food and household products
- Socialize elderly community members
- Improve the psychological state of the elderly and prevent depression related to social isolation
- Increase the quality of life for project participants
Role of Volunteers:
- Process Hesed client databases
- Identify client needs
- Collect donations and food packages
- Develop logistical routes
- Deliver assistance to beneficiaries
- Maintain online and telephone communication with beneficiaries
