Project "Barbershop"

Hairdressing and manicure services for the elderly to ease their adaptation to age-related changes.

The "Barbershop" project aims to support the self-esteem and psychological well-being of seniors and members of low-income families by providing them with free hairdressing and manicure services.

Project Description:

Participants can access these services at the community center or request home visits, which is particularly beneficial for individuals with limited mobility, significantly broadening the project's reach.

Goals of the Project:

  • Reducing expenses for low-income families and elderly individuals living alone.
  • Assisting in maintaining a neat and presentable appearance.
  • Improving participants' emotional well-being and boosting their self-esteem.
  • Strengthening community ties by providing essential support to those in need.

Role of Volunteers:

  • Assisting in organizing and facilitating beauty services.
  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments at the community center and at home.
  • Providing emotional support to participants during service appointments.
  • Spreading awareness about the project and inviting new participants.

Project Results:

  • Financial relief for low-income families by saving on beauty services.
  • Assistance in maintaining a tidy and polished appearance.
  • Enhanced emotional well-being and improved self-esteem among participants.
