Greetings and visits to lonely and less mobile elderly members of the community, aimed at involving them in communal life

Goal: to reduce social isolation among elderly members of the community, show them that the community is nearby, support them through regular greetings and visits, promote the observance of traditions, and enhance their sense of significance and belonging to communal life.

Project description:

- The project involves regular visits and greetings to elderly, less mobile, and immobile members of the community during Jewish and national holidays.

- Volunteers provide moral support, help maintain traditions, and ensure participants feel part of the community.

- These activities help elderly people preserve social contacts, experience care and attention, reduce feelings of loneliness, and improve emotional well-being.

Project objectives:

Support the social activity and emotional well-being of elderly people, involve them in community life, promote adherence to cultural and religious traditions, reduce feelings of loneliness, and enhance the sense of significance and belonging to communal life.

Role of volunteers:

- Conduct regular visits to lonely and less mobile community members.

- Greet elderly participants during Jewish and national holidays.

- Provide moral and emotional support.

- Assist in observing traditions and participating in communal life.

Project results:

- Reduction of social isolation and loneliness among elderly members.

- Improvement of their emotional well-being and sense of significance.

- Active participation of elderly people in community life and celebrations.

- Strengthened social ties between generations through volunteer activities.
