Project "Outreach Shabbat"

The existence of any nation is impossible without maintaining traditions and strengthening connections between generations. The "Outreach Shabbat" project, organized with the support of the Jewish Volunteer League, helps preserve the spirit of the Jewish people through regular meetings and meaningful interactions between older and younger community members.

Project Description:

The project organizes home gatherings with elderly and immobile members of the community, who warmly welcome guests and observe Shabbat according to traditions while sharing their knowledge with the younger generation. "Home Shabbats" take place 1-2 times a month, allowing elderly and immobile community members to actively participate in our community life and contribute to maintaining the national spirit. Young families, students, and volunteers who want to learn more about traditions and support elderly people serve as guests.

Project Goals:

The project promotes the development of connections between different generations and ensures the transfer of traditions "from hand to hand." Elderly people have the opportunity for social interaction, which helps combat loneliness and improves their quality of life. Additionally, they feel needed and important, contributing to the preservation of traditions.

Role of Volunteers:

The project is organized with the support of volunteers, whose efforts are aimed at organizing outreach Shabbats, maintaining a positive atmosphere during events, and providing various assistance to elderly people during the activities.

Project Results:

Currently, the project is very popular among both elderly community members and youth. The meetings spark lively interest among young people who want to learn more about Jewish traditions.
