Providing Care and Attention to Low-Mobility Hesed Clients Through Shabbat Gatherings

The "Shabbat to Go" project aims to address the problem of social isolation and loneliness among low-mobility Hesed clients by involving them in community life through traditional Shabbat gatherings.

Project Description:

Throughout the year, individual Shabbat meetings are regularly held with the participation of volunteers. These meetings help low-mobility individuals maintain Jewish traditions and provide opportunities for social interaction.

Project Goals:

The main goals of the project are:

  • Improving the quality of life for low-mobility and lonely community members.
  • Helping to overcome social isolation.
  • Integrating low-mobility and lonely individuals into the community's social life.
  • Supporting Jewish traditions associated with Shabbat.

Role of Volunteers:

Volunteer tasks within the project include:

  • Preparing and organizing visits with clients.
  • Conducting necessary rituals.
  • Creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere during events.
  • Providing necessary assistance to project participants.

Expected Project Outcomes:

  • Improved quality of life for low-mobility Hesed clients.
  • Reduced levels of social isolation.
  • Strengthened community ties.
  • Preservation of Jewish traditions.
  • Development of volunteers' skills and competencies.
