The "Holiday in Every Home" Project

Engaging immobile and less mobile community members in the celebration of Jewish traditions

The main idea of the project is to provide opportunities for celebrating Jewish holidays at home for those who cannot visit the community due to health or mobility limitations, maintaining their connection to cultural traditions and the community.

Project Description:

The project organizes holiday events at home for people with limited mobility, who are often isolated from the community and national traditions due to physical or medical constraints. Volunteers assist in preparing and hosting the celebrations, provide necessary resources, and create an atmosphere of participation in community life while preserving cultural and religious traditions.

Project Goals:

  • Create conditions in which immobile and less mobile individuals feel remembered and cared for by the community.
  • Support connection with Jewish traditions and community life.
  • Ensure inclusive participation in cultural events and increase social engagement of community members.

Role of Volunteers:

  • Organize and conduct Jewish holiday celebrations at home.
  • Prepare necessary materials, decorations, and festive items.
  • Facilitate communication and create a celebratory atmosphere for immobile participants.
  • Promote the integration of people with limited mobility into community life.

Project Outcomes:

  • Immobile and less mobile individuals feel included and supported by the community.
  • Connection to Jewish traditions and cultural holidays is preserved.
  • Social integration and engagement of people with limited mobility are increased.
  • Interaction and solidarity within the community are strengthened through inclusive holiday events.
