Volunteers are restoring and developing a museum that recreates the atmosphere of a Jewish town, introducing visitors to the culture, crafts, and history of Bratslav’s Jewish community, while creating a space for education, remembrance, and intergenerational dialogue.
Project Description:
The project is aimed at restoring the Craft Museum in Bratslav (Vinnytsia region), which showcases the daily life, traditions, and crafts of a Jewish town. Volunteers carry out research, restoration, and educational activities: assisting in organizing exhibitions, creating display panels, collecting historical materials, and conducting guided tours.
In addition to the museum, thematic volunteer-led excursions are organized to sites important to the history of the Bratslav Jewish community, helping to preserve memory and make it accessible to contemporary audiences.
Goals:
- Restore and maintain the Craft Museum in Bratslav.
- Preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Jewish town.
- Increase community and youth awareness of the region’s Jewish history.
- Create opportunities for volunteer and educational activities.
