Shostka

The "My Jewish Home" Project

Creating a comfortable, accessible, and cozy space for members of the Jewish community

The main idea is to improve the community space, making it safe, modern, and accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities, so that every member of the community can participate in its life.

Description:

Volunteers in Shostka actively care for the space used by the community for meetings, celebrations, and activities. Within the framework of the project, they carry out minor repairs, organize the premises, adapt it for the convenience of visitors with limited mobility, and ensure cleanliness and aesthetic appeal. The goal is to make the “Jewish Home” a place where everyone can feel cared for, experience a sense of belonging, and enjoy comfort in communal interactions.

Goals:

  • Conduct minor renovations of the community premises.
  • Create a barrier-free space for people with disabilities.
  • Ensure comfortable conditions for various events.
  • Strengthen the sense of home and unity among community members.

Role of Volunteers:

  • Organize and carry out cleaning, minor repairs, and painting work.
  • Help arrange a convenient space for visitors with special needs.
  • Take care of the decorative design of the premises.
  • Maintain ongoing order and cleanliness in the community center.

Outcomes:

  • Renovated and well-organized community premises.
  • Accessible space created for people with disabilities.
  • Improved conditions for cultural, educational, and social events.
  • Strengthened sense of unity and pride in their “Jewish Home.”
