The “volunteer landing party” project

Tidying and caring for sites of historical and spiritual significance by committed community members

Over time, many areas, including burial sites and the adjacent grounds of community buildings, require ongoing care. Limited resources do not always allow for their proper maintenance. As a result, cleanliness, historical value, and respect for the memory of previous generations can be lost.

Project Description:

Within the framework of the project, volunteers organize community clean-up events, during which they remove litter, clean pathways, tend to green spaces, maintain graves, fences, and areas around the Community Center. These activities are not only practical assistance but also a great opportunity for communication, mutual support, and fostering community unity.

Project Goals:

  • Ensure cleanliness and order in areas of historical and cultural significance.
  • Foster a sense of responsibility and respect for shared spaces among community members.
  • Contribute to the preservation of historical memory through the care of burial sites.
  • Unite volunteers and encourage new participants to join collective efforts.

Role of Volunteers in the Project:

  • Organize and carry out clean-up events.
  • Maintain the upkeep of territories throughout the year.
  • Assist in coordinating groups and recruiting new participants.
  • Promote awareness of the importance of caring for historical sites.

Project Outcomes:

  • Grounds around burial sites and the Community Center became clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Respect for the community’s historical heritage increased.
  • Volunteer activity and cohesion grew.
  • A sense of shared responsibility and care for the surrounding environment was fostered.
