Fighting Loneliness

The BEIT DAN Volunteer Platform proudly accepted the baton from the Odesa Volunteer Community in the "Wave of Kindness" campaign.

The charitable relay of good deeds "Wave of Kindness," launched by the Volunteer Community Ukr network, which includes 33 volunteer centers across Ukraine, is gaining momentum. Centers receiving the virtual relay beacon are joining the initiative, completing the assigned task. Each task is allotted one week for completion.

This time, the relay beacon reached the BEIT DAN Volunteer Platform along with the thematic task "Fighting Loneliness." The center's volunteers decided to bake Shabbat challahs and visit elderly lonely members of the community. It's no secret that many grandmothers and grandfathers face the problem of loneliness, deprived of communication and support from relatives and loved ones. The volunteer initiative was aimed at them.

The hosts warmly welcomed their dear guests, who brought not only fragrant treats but also the joy of companionship. The shared gatherings were filled with warmth, humor, and sincere smiles. Emotions overflowed, and everyone enjoyed the easygoing friendly conversations.

Assisting elderly people isn't just about meeting their everyday needs; communication plays a huge role for them. Volunteers urge everyone to remember their own grandparents, to pay attention to them, to come for a visit, and simply to sit down for a cup of tea. Such attention is crucial for the emotional and psychological well-being of elderly people and can significantly improve their quality of life.

The BEIT DAN Volunteer Platform volunteers successfully completed the relay task and are ready for new achievements. They continue to give love and care to those in need of it.
