Hanukkah Act of Kindness
The Hanukkah miracle extends not only to people but also to those who cannot express their gratitude in words.
Hanukkah is a time to do good, whether its light shines on people or on those speechless tails that sometimes cannot survive without our help. During these festive days, volunteers from the Kharkiv center visited an animal shelter to warm the hearts of its inhabitants.
Everyone at the shelter found an activity they could participate in. Men set to work crafting kennels for dogs, women and girls went for a walk with their new wards, and children and their parents helped in the puppy enclosure.
The freezing weather outside did not deter these acts of kindness. Love and care warmed our four-legged brethren. Dogs joyfully responded to the guests, thanking them for their involvement by wagging their tails and barking happily.
The shelter residents received invaluable assistance. There are so many dogs that shelter staff cannot always give attention to each one, but thanks to the efforts of volunteers, every little tail received a share of participation and heartfelt warmth.
The help of volunteers proved to be necessary and timely because animals cannot survive without human involvement. In addition to new kennels, shelter residents received the joy of social interaction and a dose of positive emotions, which are essential on cold winter days.
We thank the volunteers for their kindness and willingness to help those who need care and support the most!
