Voluntary backup
Daily, volunteers are helping across the country in hapless times of war, brightening up the colors of harsh reality.
As an example, volunteers of the Rivine Volunteer Community are cooking tasty meals and deliver them to the doors of those in need, elders, families and soldiers that are protecting their city. Volunteers are baking Challahs for Shabbat, to revive the spirit of holiday in such trying times. Volunteers also frequently contact elders via phone and organize online meet-ups to distract them from fears and intrusive thoughts.
These days, people are learning to use their skills in new inventive ways. Thus, our talented women are using their knitting skills to create masking nets and provide nets for the military helmets.
Volunteers are also taking care of those who were not able to take care of themselves even in the regular times, our friend on four paws – animals. Regularly, volunteers organize trips to the local animal shelter in the regions that are available. There they feed, pet, and play with animals. This way voluntary activities and events are not only still active, but also keep u the normal flow of life within the community of peaceful civilians.
