The “Hesed to People – I Am Hesed!” project was created to support Hesed clients by involving volunteers in the organization’s activities due to the reduction in staff.

Project Description:

In response to staff reductions, Hesed is recruiting volunteers to maintain all ongoing projects and provide assistance to their beneficiaries. Many volunteers were once beneficiaries of Hesed themselves. Volunteers help with organizing and conducting events, running programs, purchasing groceries, and delivering items to Hesed clients.

Project Goals:

• Maintain Hesed’s activities in the context of staff reductions
• Assist all categories of Hesed clients
• Attract volunteers to charitable activities
• Unite community members
• Create a sustainable structure to support community members
• Provide an environment for the development and implementation of volunteers

Role of Volunteers:

• Participate in various assistance programs organized by Hesed
• Maintain contact with beneficiaries
• Recruit new volunteers
• Identify the needs of beneficiaries
• Create a group of active volunteers to ensure uninterrupted operation of Hesed

Project Results:

• 40 volunteers involved in the project
• Regular assistance provided to various needy community members
• Establishment of a structure for ongoing support of those in need
• Implementation of all Hesed programs for its beneficiaries
