Project Description:
The “Tangle of Kindness” project was created to support and socialize children battling serious illnesses in medical institutions.
The project has been in existence since 2017. As part of the project, volunteers visit children with serious illnesses in medical facilities, where they conduct workshops teaching children to create knitted items. Volunteers also gift knitted creations to the children. Initially, the project focused on knitted hats, but since 2020, volunteers have started creating soft toys with the children.
Project Goals:
- Social adaptation of children with serious illnesses undergoing treatment in hospitals
- Development of new skills and creative talents in children
- Improvement of the psycho-emotional state of the children
- Providing children with necessary and useful items
- Engaging the public in volunteer activities
Role of Volunteers:
- Acquisition of necessary materials
- Conducting workshops for children
- Recruiting new volunteers for the project
- Creating and delivering essential items to the children
Project Results:
- 10 volunteers involved in the project
- 60 hats distributed to children with serious illnesses
- 30 soft toys given to children with cancer
- Social adaptation of children with serious illnesses undergoing treatment in hospitals
- Improvement of the psycho-emotional state of the children
- Increased public awareness of the benefits of volunteer activities
